I believe these binoculars are a real bargain. For $30 you get a set of waterproof, rubberized, CLEAR, rough and tumble binoculars. These are great for hunting and the like. They fold and slip into a pocket. Perfect for the eastern outdoorsman that needs a sturdy set of binoculars for the woods. If you're in Montana, looking across a mountain peak 1000 yards away, these are not for you. But if you're in a tree stand looking at movement 60 yards away, buy them.
Good for the money

I'm a serious birder and own some good optics. I wanted a pair of high-power glasses to use in sea kayaking, where things are usually pretty far away. They had to be waterproof and inexpensive, as there are many opportunities for mishaps, in addition to simple salt water spray.

br /It's hard to give something like this a high rating, as the optics are not good, but for what I needed they are perfect. I take the manufacturers word for it that they are nitrogen purged, etc. They are heavy, which is a positive as it implies that they will be stable and not go out of alignment.

br /The only surprise is the close focus, of perhaps 20m. I have not used 12x bins before, so this may be typical. However, for my purposes this is no problem.
Just what I needed.

These are average binoculars with average optics suitable for occasional binocular users who don't have high expectations. Given that they are advertised as having fully multicoated optics and BAK4 prisms, I had hoped for better quality. But, heck, they're inexpensive and my grandkids have a ball with them. For far better optics I recommend the Nikon Travelite V binoculars for around $100. They're lighter and superior in every way.
