I have bought a couple of binoculars in the past. Always thinking the higher magnification was better. That's not always true as keeping the object steady at 10 and higher with your hands is tough. The higher mags also suck up light making the image darker. Now I have an Eagleview Zoom and don't worry which model I should have chosen. For the most part it stays at 8 but when I really need to get close the zoom is great. The turn and slide eyecups are a fine feature.

I ordered these binoculars for my husband's birthday. They arrived promptly and in excellent condition; well packed. We both were surprised by how powerful they are and easy to use, WOW! Very, very pleased. They are very light weight (nice for these old arthritic arms and hands). The only possible drawback is that they are not waterproof and need to be kept dry at all times, so DH will not be able to take them along on fishing trips unless he double zipper lock bags them.

I've wanted to purchase a pair of binoculars for a couple of years, but kept putting it off because I figured I'd have to dump at least $300 on a quality pair. I wanted something compact, good quality, and affordable. Not exactly an easy order. But after reading the reviews for these bins, I figured I'd give them a try. All I can say is wow. These are exactly what I was looking for. They provide a very crisp image at the lower magnification levels. And even at 24x, although usually impractical, they are a lot of fun. I find it easy to focus and change the zoom level with one hand which is a plus. For general purpose viewing, these are fantastic binoculars. The bins shipped with a black velcro-flap carrying case with a belt loop on the back, and a small carrying strap that you can attach to your bins.

This was a great purchase for my purposes - birding and wildlifing. I had to get used to turning the center-focus with ring finger, as the zoom lever is in the index-finger position. To use full zoom, you really need total stability, but half zoom is very useful even from a moving kayak. Right-eye focus ring is right up against the eyecups and hard to move unless you twist open the eyecups, in which case the focus ring is fine. Focus crispness is not quite what I hoped for at full zoom, but still good for seeing field marks. One big advantage is the light weight. This set is as light as the smaller Nikon I lost. Very nice!
Good all-around binocs.

Having had binoculars in the past be either way too expensive or too cheap, I wanted a new pair that would replace a pair that was loaned out, then lost. The opportunity presented itself in the form of a trip to Canada this past September, which required something that would be able to capture the Canadian Rocky vistas, but also not be so heavy that I would feel like needing a cart to stow them in. The Nikon Eagleview Binoculars seem to fill the bill (not too expensive, but also not too heavy). They have a great zoom feature that is easily changed as well as being able to easily focus with one hand. My only complaint is that while zooming in on a subject, the light level is reduced, which occurs naturally due to the nature of optics. You can't have everything, but these were just right, allowing my wife and I to use them time and time again while observing nature. In summary, a good pair for all-around use!

Oh my god~! This binoculars are AMAZING~! Nikon JAPAN did it AGAIN~!!! I travel all over the world, I attend all sorts of sports event, Nature Watch, and do some SPY work~! I have looked over 300 type and kind of Binoculars, and I FINALLY found this one~!! and bought it for $70 for Sale. It is even BETTER design then the previous model, very light weight, Ease of Use, Compact that fit in my pocket, and POSWERFUL enough to see Galaxy in the sky. I was little concerned if I would loose the Light as you power up the zoom, NOT SO~!!!! If you want ALL round binoculars that are made with QUALITY and right PRICE, this is THE ONE.

I suppose that I could try to find the rights words to describe these binoculars. Or I could just tell a short story. Our oldest daughter and her husband came for a visit recently. She really loved my binoculars so, hey, she's my daughter and I'm Daddy; I gave them to her. These are not my only binoculars. But I liked them so much I bought a second pair.

When I was looking for Binoculars the fist concession I had to make was that I was trying to fill a particurlar need and not looking for an all time intergalactic technical marvel... I'm not sure such a thing actually exists but I can tell you for sure its pretty pricy. But if you ever go driving or camping and say "Wow I wish I had some Binoculars" this is the one I recommend. It is "Quality" by experience and the price will help keep you from feeling the dreaded "expensive paper weight" syndrome when you are not using them...

Using the Binoculars for general viewing of wildlife they work great. They do need good lighting to perform well. I use the 8X most of the time as the zoom can be shakey unless you hold them up against something to make it steady. Overall very good value for the price and lightweight.

If anyone is thinking of purchasing a good binocular for eveyday use this
br /one will fill the need. the lense is very clear compared to another set I own. It is light and compact and if you are going to have one in the car or carrying with you on vacation to use for the unexpected event this one will be perfect. One other point to mention is the zoom, although 8-10 is the range most people will use the extra range is a bonus for the long distant view. ps it's better to have a set of binoculars that are light and compact, that is not a burden to carry than, a very expensive heavy set that will stay home most of the time i've learned that lesson.

I purchased this for my husband for his birthday. I saw all the great reviews and thought this was the one for him! There are two things that bother us. #1 - the zoom button got stuck in the 24 position. Neither one of us could get this moved to another spot. Finally my husband used a quarter to move the button. It was the second time he used it! We are not sure how to fix this if this happens again. Secondly, the strap is missing one piece of small plastic and it means we can not use it. This is very disappointing also. Everything should come ready to use and be able to use it well. Not sure I would do this again.

I purchased these glasses as a possible replacement for a larger pair of Nikon glasses because i hoped they would provide the same view in a smaller, more compact package. Unfortunately, I enjoyed the glasses but not enough improvement to supplant the older larger model. In short, the smaller package didn't provide enough improvement to make the change.

Nice Compact size, focus nob is toward front which results in using middle or ring finger for focusing and index finger for zooming. Takes some getting used to. Eyeglass wearers may find it difficult to use, i.e., finding a good spot where both left right images come completely together. Image becomes darker as zoom in. Not suitable for use in low light conditions (dawn or dusk) at middle to full zoom. I predominantly use them to spot arrows when shooting target archery. It's light weight, size and limited view field are ideally suited for this purpose.

I have had a number of pairs of binoculars and these are by far the best. I didn't know if the zoom capacity would be sufficient when I ordered the binoculars; but it is more than enough. I have had problems in the past with other binoculars when I try to get just one image rather than two; but these binoculars adjust sufficiently close so that this isn't an issue.
