Description:

Magnifying life does, indeed, include sea life. And these are just the binoculars to do it. The legendary 7x50mm Marine binoculars are a premier choice for spotting marinas, deadheads, or the fisherman's best friend, feeding birds. Built to withstand the conditions that come along with the nautical world, they are not only nitrogen-purged to provide reliable waterproof/fogproof performance. The 13-7500 model is even hermetically sealed to further assure no moisture creeps in. Impressive light transmission from BaK-4 porro prisms, multi-coated optics and large UV-coated objective lenses brighten images from dusk-to-dawn. Marine binoculars not only float, but easy-grip rubber armoring protects and provides a secure hold should things get rough. Always nice, should an unexpected swell or throttle burst take you by surprise.PRODUCT FEATURES: Waterproof; Fogproof; Multi-Coated Lens Coating; Fold Down Eyecups; Internal Ranging Reticle; Illuminated Compass; Floats.

Bushnell warrants Katrina

Actually I had purchased the predecessor to this model approximately 24 years ago. They were repaired under warranty once at about 10 years, when I made the mistake of leaving them in my boat with a black tarp cover, in the New Orleans summer sun for 3 months. Everything in the boat was baked, and the binnoculars developed a fog inside.
Then in 2005 Katrina flooded my St. Bernard home with 12' of water for 3 weeks. The Bushnells had seeped storm surge seawater and dissolved gypsum sheetrock inside. This time Bushnell simply replaced the old warriors with a new modern set.
I think I have put these optics through 2 rather unreasonable trials and Bushnell has stood by them, no questions asked! I am very impressed with a company waranty like that and intend to show my loyalty to Bushnell in return. Good stuff from good people.

I don't know how it could be better. One of our sailing sons said it was the best he's used. I wish I could say something technical and impressive but can only be anecdotal. My Commander, USNR, Rtd. husband was delighted with this birthday present. The price was pretty good, too.

A must have for going out on the open water

I bought these for triangulating my position on charts while sailing. I was a little worried that the internal compass would be hard to read as my 40+ year old eyes need reading glasses to read newspapers, computer screens etcetera. I have had no problem whatsoever. The compass is large and easy to read. The compass has an internal light which is a great added feature. I did an overnight sail in March and would have had a very difficult time guessing where I was without this feature. I never use the reticle for judging distance. I suppose I could get the instructions out to do the math but it hardly seems worth it because the compass allows me to locate my position very easily.

the wiew quality is not as seen on adverts
